Many web designers prefer to build their websites in development folders and when their development is over to move their Joomla Instalation to the root main folder.

So lets asume we have installed a new joomla CMS into the www.youtdomin.com/test folder
and whant to move it to the root www.yourdomain.com .Following changes should be done.
You can due the same procedure if you want to backup your old installation to a /old folder.

Following these steps :

1. Move all of the files and folders from your Joomla folder to the new directory. In our case from index_html/test to index_html

2. Reconfigure your application. You should edit your configuration.php file and make the following changes in it:

To: var $log_path = ‘/home/user/inde_html/logs‘;

3. Remove all content of your cache folder (index_html/cache in our case)
